I'm not sure what to call this...is it a smoothie or a milkshake? I'm going with shake because it has ice cream in it. Whatever you call it though, it's gooood.
I've been on a real smoothie/milkshake kick lately. I think because they're so easy to make and super filling (at least to me they are). Plus it's a quick way to get my daily serving of fruit. I'm not the most healthy eater out there, but I do like to at least try every once in awhile.
If you've got kids, then this is definitely a recipe to have in your arsenal. A little bit of vanilla ice cream, a splash of chocolate syrup (which you could certainly omit if you so choose), a bunch of strawberries (you could also throw in some banana...mmmmm), and some milk...I don't know, sounds healthy to me!
Poor Jesse. He missed this tasty treat. I'll have to make him one tonight after dinner with the last of the strawberries. Now that he's in play-care all day, he's missing all my afternoon recipes! He was going Mon-Thurs from 8am-Noon. I recently switched him to 9am-4:30pm though. He wanted more time to play with his friends, plus he's learning so much from his teachers, so why not?
The only downside is that now I'm really, really bored without him here all day. So bored in fact, that I started going to the gym to try and get toned. Yes...the gym. To work out. Me. And let me tell you, it's the most pathetic sight you'll ever see. Actually, you'll never see it cause I wouldn't dare set foot in the place if there were other people there. I'm using the fitness room in my neighborhood community center. It's nice, and thankfully it's utterly deserted at 10am!
Oh well...we'll see what happens. The way I look at it is, whatever I'm doing in the gym, for however long or short I'm doing it for, it's better than what I would be doing otherwise...which is sitting on my ass on the couch watching Hoda and Kathie Lee! Well, I'm still watching Hoda and Kathie Lee, now it's just from an elliptical machine panting like a dog after only 10 minutes. I know...it' really pretty sad.
